Thanks to optimum for sponsoring a portion of this blog.
What's going on guys? It's your arfat. And today we're gonna be talking about some tips and tricks for the iPhone 13 lineup. Now, if you've already gotten iPhone 13, there are probably gonna be some hidden gems inside of here that you probably didn't know that you can pull off with your phone. So let's talk about what you can do. Now. One of the first things you might have noticed with your new iPhone is that when you browse in safari, your search bar is actually at the bottom. Now not everybody's crazy about the change, but you can go ahead and change that so we can get back on top and be like what we're used to. Now, there are a couple of ways to change this. If you're on safari, you can hit that AA in the search bar. And the very first option shows the tab bar on the top.
Boom, we're back to normal. So if you don't like the new change, you can always do it there. But if you don't want to go through safari, you can go into settings, you can find safari down here, then you can change it right here. So you can do tab bar or single tab, whatever one's easier for you, but that's how you get it back to normal. Now, next up is a feature that apples talked about, but I still notice a lot of people don't know it exists. So something cool that you can do with the camera. So let's say you take a photo of something with some text. So you've got a menu over here. You can open up the photo in your Photos app and you can highlight the text in the photo. Copy it, paste it somewhere else. You can search for things.
One pretty cool thing is you see this address right here. You can hold it and then it'll pop up right on the map. There's some real functionality here. So if there's maybe something that you see that you want to maybe remember in the future, you can take a picture of it. And then you have all this data that you can access right here in the photo. So a pro tip, if you're a student, if you gotta take a picture of like a textbook, you can take a picture, highlight the text, go it into your notes. The app makes life a lot easier. And while we're talking about the camera, there's a feature called photographic styles. Now, this is another one of those features that Apple has talked about, but still, a lot of people don't know it's a thing. So if you are someone who enjoys filters or maybe editing your photos, or maybe you don't enjoy editing your photos, but you want your photos to look a certain way, you can do this one time change, keep the photographic styles on and your photos will keep a look that you create in the camera app and it'll look the way you want it to every time I'm not gonna get too nerdy here and talk about all these different camera settings.
Uh, but if you like to have some contrast or you like them to be a little bit on the warmer side, whatever your taste maybe if you're someone who cares about their camera, take a second to do it, give it a shot, and you might be impressed by what your camera can put out. Every time you take a photo. Now, if you didn't know, the iPhone 13 has wifi six support. So you should be able to get some of the fastest wifi speeds available. And speaking of fast speeds, optimum, who was cool enough to sponsor this portion of the video has just launched their new optimum fiber network. And the network delivers equally fast upload and download speeds. So you can do your favorite things like stream content with no lag. They offer internet services up to one gig with smart wifi, six technology too.
So multiple devices can connect and have great speed. And I'm an optimum subscriber. And I pay for the one gig service. And I don't know how I'd be able to have a smart home with all of the devices that I have at home without that fast speed. And if you're worried about security, optimum keeps you safe with built-in internet security to protect you from viruses, malware, and, and more so if you guys wanna learn more about optimum services, definitely check the links down below in the description. And again, huge shout out to optimum for sponsoring this portion of the video. But if you have the iPhone 13 and you need that wifi six support, you know where to go, Jay, we did tips and tricks for the iPhone 12. I feel like we did, but there's a tip that I loved in that video.
And that's the triple tap to take a screenshot. So you can go into settings, go into accessibility, touchback, tap. You can have access to a double-tap and a triple tap and they can do various things. Me. I hate trying to take a screenshot. I always forget which volume button I'm supposed to press. So to keep life simple, just do a triple tap and boom. Uh, but you can always change that you have extra controls here. So if you want that to be a screenshot or you want to open the camera or you wanna make that like your home button, you can pretty much do whatever you want. There are a lot of cool things that you can turn on here. So definitely to check that out, if you haven't from like the previous iPhone. So something that apple recently introduced is the focus.
So focus allows you to have different, do not disturb modes, basically, depending on what you're doing. So you can actually jump into focus over here and then you can see you have, do not disturb personal work, sleep, whatever it is you want to do, you can create a new so that we only get certain notifications depending on which focus mode you have it in. You can have it. So notifications only from work applications like Gmail, text messages, or messages from like your boss or coworkers come in that kind of deal. But one thing that I like about this is you can go into these modes. You can go into the settings and you can change the home screen to a custom home screen. So right now I'll show you guys, this is my current home screen, but if I go into work, I'll tap that and you see I've got a completely new home screen.
Now, something that's pretty cool about focus is that if you don't want to go ahead and switch, every time you go into work or something, have it automated, you can have a schedule or make it based on location. You can just have it, do it automatically. So you're not even thinking about it. Your phone will automatically say, all right, we're working now or all right, I'm free, ready to have some fun, whatever you want. You can have it automatically do it. So that way you can access these features without even thinking about it. Now, if you have an iPhone and you've downloaded an app, chances are, you've seen the application ask for permission to track, or you can say, don't allow the app to track, but you can actually, instead of always saying, don't allow the app to track what I do. Uh, you can turn off the ability for the app to even ask for permission.
If you jump into your settings and then you go into privacy and then tracking, and then you can allow apps to request to track. If you turn that off, you'll cut off all apps from being able to ask you to even track. Uh, so that way nobody's getting any cookie information from you. They're not tracking what you're doing outside of the application. I mean, I, it feels like a no-brainer to me, unless you want certain applications to be able to do that. Kevin, you let apps track you. Oh my, go. Well, yeah, that makes sense. Now here's an old-school feature that I still use daily. I'm an iPhone 13 Promax user. And I still use reachability now. I don't know how many people, Jay, you have a 13 Promax you use, reachability not the virtual button type thing. No, it's let me show you.
So this is a big phone and when you're using it with one hand, it might be a little bit hard to reach the top sometimes, but reachability allows you to just swipe down on that home button and you're able to swipe down or interact with the top of the screen by it pulling the entire screen like halfway. So it can make things a little bit easier when you wanna reach the top of the phone. Uh, just by doing that little swipe down first, you gotta turn it on, Jay. It's like, I forgot you. Forgot you. See it. This is, this is why we brought it up. Now I know you guys have heard is this feature, but did you remember that you can FaceTime with people who don't have an iPhone. If you have somebody who uses Android or maybe windows, you can actually go into FaceTime, create a link, and then you can take that link, copy it.
And then you can send it to someone through, through messages or mail. However, you want to get it to the person. You can send a link over and you're automatically able to FaceTime someone. They're gonna be using their browser while you use FaceTime. But yeah, it finally bridges the gap between Android users and windows, users, to people who want to FaceTime. Now them on the other side, they can't send you a link and you know, do that. So you'll always have to be the person who does that. And what's great about that feature is they don't need to download anything. They just use the link in their browser and boom, you guys are video chatting. Now here's the feature you probably didn't know was even happening on your phone. If you go to power off your iPhone, you'll see that it says the iPhone is fine after power off.
So even if the iPhone powers off, you should still be able to find it using the find my app. Now, this is useful in case a thief gets ahold of your phone and they try to power it off immediately so that you can't call them or track them still trackable. So if you happen to forget your phone somewhere and you try to call it and you notice it's off, all hope is not lost. Get on that fine. My, and you'll still be able to track the phone using that feature. You can turn it off if you want, but I would not recommend that. Now here's another cool feature. It uses Siri. No, no, don't give me me wrong. It's Siri, but it's kind of cool. So if we're on a webpage here, you can say, Hey Siri, or just use the right side button, send this to a, and then just like that I can send over the webpage and it's listening to me.
